After enjoying a proper guided tour of the ashram, take the rented car and travel about 18kms from Ahmedabad to reach the Adalaj Vav. This is a step well in the Adalaj village. Apart from the delicate architecture, the most fascinating part about this structure is that even during the summer months the insides of the step well remain cool. It was previously used for rainwater harvesting. Have your lunch at an authentic Gujarati street side and stall and then make your way to the Law Garden night market in the evening. You will come across really nice traditional Gujarati stuff at really great prices. Bargaining is your best weapon here and if you are successful then you will be able to strike really great deals!
