The expression of one’s perspective through various forms is known as Art; the author’s imagination is revealed by the use of various tools. Through art the audio, visual and performing artifacts are bought before others with the intention of being appreciated by its viewer or audience, for its beauty or power of emotion. Not everyone however, is capable of creating artful things; Michael Haddad is a curator of art and is very fond of photography.
The visual arts are the oldest documented form of arts; it included the creation of objects and images in areas such as painting, printmaking, sculpting, photography and other forms of visual media. Unlike painting which has always been very popular, photography is slowly becoming very popular and more and more individuals like Michael Haddad are getting interested in it and pursuing it as a profession.
The genre of art is very diverse and includes various types of things in it; some of the different types of art are architecture, animation, calligraphy, graphic designing, graphitti, sculpture, artistic designing, painting of all sorts, dancing, performance, screen printing, engraving, lithography, and tapestry etc.
This wide range of art involves numerous elements as well; they can be summed up as line, form, shape, texture, space, value and color. When these primary concepts are combined with the principles of design, they become the building blocks for the creation of any artistic masterpiece. These are the things that the artists within any genre of art utilize to express their view of the things of this world and also of their imagination.
The elements of space, texture are employed especially by sculptors as they give form to three dimensional pieces of art; while line and shape are the two elements that are employed all those artists who bring to life those pieces of art that are two dimensional.
The element of value is basically playing with light and darkness in any piece of art using shading and perspective. Painters, artisans to work with stained glass and illustrators have to be extremely creative in their depiction of art because there are uncountable hues and their tints and tones to select from. Wax modeling, carving of ivory, casting of bronze, relief sculpting, cave painting, poster art, are some of the other forms of art that are present.
Every era of human life has given rise to some or the other new type of art; right from the Paleolithic Age humans have been creative and the first form of art was painting that they carried out in caves and on big rocks. The boundaries of art cover an enormous wide area and there is a sea of things to learn about all the varied forms of art.
The center of interest however, in any form of art, photography, painting or sculpting, is the key element that defines it. It is also known as its point of focus or its focal point. Though it is not necessary that this center of interest has to be the center of the piece of art, yet it is definitely what makes each work of art unique and gives it a special touch.
